Program Overview

This program operates as a corporate sponsorship program established in 2018 at the Department of Bioengineering, the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.
Precision health is a cross-disciplinary field that spans medicine and engineering as it handles not only medical information but also the application of the latest technologies for human health promotion and disease prevention. As such its realization necessitates the close collaboration between healthcare professionals and engineers.

Our group works to understand lifestyle habits through a focus on exercise and nutrition, as well as sleep and the concept of psychological stress. Personal as well as organizational  health investment will be promoted by establishing scientific associations between disease risks, medical expenses and labor productivity. These associations will allow for early lifestyle interventions and the resulting improvement of personal health and the reduction in medical expenses.

Through this research in a super-ageing society, we will contribute to the creation of a future healthcare system and the training of people who will lead and support the biomedical industry.
